It all part of Ford’s drag racing-only Cobra Jet package, a comprehensive reworking of the Mustang platform for straight line use. Well, not exactly straight line. The car doesn’t just go forward, it goes up.

Now would be a good time for me to point out that the wheelie bar is a $1,995 extra on this $99,990 car, as Bangshift points out.

Ford expects this car to run in the 8s, just like the equivalent COPO Camaro Chevy unveiled yesterday.

Something deep inside me feels very happy seeing solid axles on these cars. I can’t explain why, exactly, but I don’t really need to.
