Rally Crash Kills Six Spectators In Spain

Six spectators including a pregnant woman were killed at the A Coruña rally in Spain after a driver lost control of his car, per The Guardian. Among the dead were four women and two men. Additionally, sixteen spectators were injured, per the latest report from the BBC.

The rally took place in the town of Carral, in Galicia, in northwestern Spain.

According to The Guardian, local media reported that both the driver and codriver were unharmed in the accident, however, a police spokesman was unable to confirm this.

"One of the drivers took the track at a much higher speed than he should have and he veered off a curve, slamming into around 20 people," a civil guard spokesman told The Guardian.

Footage of the incident shows the car steering off-course in a cloud of dust into a spectator area just off the edge of the course.
