Everyone wants to drive Circuit of the Americas! No one wants to crash at COTA. Speeds are high, and there are pricey barriers to hit. Fortunately, this Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car with no brakes managed to park it right before hitting the barriers. Code Brown level: high.

Driver Luke Oxner had the 996 Cup up to 125 mph before noticing that he couldn’t slow it down for turn 11, the slowest turn on the track. Oxner was able to dodge the car ahead of him and drive it away from the wall outside the turn.

Fortunately, the gravel trap seemed to work this time, and Oxner slowed down right before the point where he’d have to make a ton of repairs to the side of the car and possibly be out on the Friday of a three-day Porsche Club of America weekend.

According to Oxner, a brake caliper bleed screw backed out, letting brake fluid out and causing the brake system to fail.

The car was a rocketship for most of the Porsche Club of America’s weekend at COTA, though, finishing first in GTC3 in both of the sprint races on Saturday.
