That’s right! Thanks to the power of money and Chevrolet’s racing partner Pratt & Miller, you can have a real, angry, high-horsepower race car without having to meet all of those silly qualifications like, oh, being a professional race-car driver. These days, all you need is a wallet and big dreams. It’ll take $259,000 plus tax for you to get one of these mean suckers all to yourself.

The GT4.R for sale is the same one used in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series and the Pirelli World Challenge, which has a 6.2-liter V8 engine and a six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters that send quite a bit of power to the rear wheels. If you’re nervous about taking your new, expensive toy out for a spin on the track, don’t worry—it has adjustable traction control so that you can keep the thing from slipping out from under you and into a wall.

Chevrolet kept the GT4.R’s dimensions similar to its road-going counterpart, the Camaro ZL1 1LE, with only the splitter, dive plane and rear wing being different. The GT4.R also has an upgraded racing suspension, and the car was built with the goal of making it easier for teams across the globe to pick it up and race it.

Now the rest of us can race the car, too—if we cough up the cash, that is. But, after thinking about it, maybe that concept isn’t so different from actual racing after all.
